2020-2021 Plan
Review Plan and the updated Budget Expenditures
Reviewed 2020-2021 Pathways MOY Data. After this year we hope to have other data to compare with.
Reviewed 2020-2021 Math Essential Learning Target Data. This data is dependent on grade levels. Some grades’ data represents one Essential Learning Target while others show Benchmark data which incorporates what students learn all year long.
2021-2022 Plan
Goal #1 - Reading
Discussed keeping the 65% percent progress goal.
Has this year’s growth followed a typical pattern?
Coronavirus = shortened schedule, unable to pull grade wide intervention groups, unable to implement cross age tutoring. All these can impact student progress.
More ground to make up for some students.
Raising the goal isn’t going to change the amount of effort the teachers put in. No penalty for leaving it. Vote was unanimous to leave it at 65%
Goal #2 -Math
Students in K-6 will score 80% or higher on their identified grade level essential learning target by the end of the school year.
Tracking and Reporting of this data will be discussed with the faculty.
Allowing teachers to use Benchmark Data or Common Formative Assessment Data allows flexibility for teachers.
Mrs. Williams recommended looking at other schools’ plans on the Trust Land website.
Laurel Mock moved to approve the 2021-2022 Trust land Plan, Marinda Fowler seconded the motion. Unanimous approval of the 2021-2022 Plan.
Council Membership for 2021-2022
Orchard Springs by-laws state that members serve a two year term. Will we need an election this year?
Laurel Mock will reach out to the parent council members to see who wants to continue serving next year.
Mrs. Williams will reach out to the staff council members to see who wants to continue serving next year.

Orchard Springs Culture
After two crazy years, it is time to create and define the community involvement in the school culture.
STEM
Utilize Project Learning Way modules. This spring all teachers will be teaching the Kindergarten Module, Structure and Function.
STEM Day - invite a variety of professionals to the school to talk about STEM related Careers.
Looking into funding to purchase Robotics kits for the 5th Grade PLTW Module which could develop into a Robotic Club if there is enough staff and community interest and support.
Utilize the 3D Printers.
Teach Coding
We will look at having a choir next year.
Do we want to introduce literacy nights?
Last year we focused on music and the arts, but this year the focus was more on STEM. Which do we want to use as part of PLC Time?
PTO traditions can contribute to the school culture. Add this same discussion to the next PTO meeting.
Spirit Days are picking up momentum.
Guests and Goodies
Halloween Parade probably will not be introduced because of safety and instructional time concerns. North Ogden did away with costumes and parties and held a Halloween Carnival instead.
Hope Squad is planning additional Kindness Day Challenges.
Quarterly Activity to draw us together as a school and community.
As a school we’d rather choose a few things and do them well rather than try to incorporate too many things to begin with.
Mrs. Williams stated that she would like to see students become more familiar with other teachers and staff at school. Will possibly to a quarterly activity to achieve this.
Think of ideas that you’ve experienced or heard of that we could bring to OSE.
Consider dollars and manpower!
People are craving interactions, traditions, and community.
