SCC Training Video from Utah LANDS Trust
A video was shared to introduce Community Councils and to share tips & tricks.
OSE Rules of Order and Procedure
Mrs. Dills read over the OSE Rules of Order and Procedure
A new rule was added to require a special election if a council member can no longer serve.
A vote is needed to approve the change.
Before taking the vote, the council decided to elect a chair and vice chair.
Alicia nominated Monica, Sarah seconded (Alicia withdrew her motion).
Monica nominated Alicia, Kelani seconded.
Lacey motions to amend that Alicia is Chair and Sarah is Vice Chair.
Vote is unanimous in the affirmative.
Alicia motioned to approve addition to OSE Rules and Procedures.
She raised the concern about appointing parent members with a special election only required if the number of interested parent parties exceeds seven. The concerns are about the time it takes to hold special elections.
Monica seconded.
Voting unanimous in the affirmative.
Yearly Meeting Schedule
Proposed schedule is meeting on the second Thursday of the month from 4-5. We would need to change the date in October because of Fall Break, moving the meeting to the 20th. No meeting to be held in December.
Lacey Boggess motioned to accept proposed meeting schedule, Sarah Heilig seconded, voting was unanimous in the affirmative.
Live training dates were announced and information about that training was provided to council members at the meeting.
New Council Members
Alicia motioned to appoint three interested parents (Lindsay Campbell, Kathryn Buxton, Marinda Fowler) to replace Jenny Smith and all three would serve a two-year term.
Voting unanimous in the affirmative.
The new members can now vote on council questions.
Meeting Dismissed
5:05 pm - Alicia Willoughby motioned to adjourn, seconded by Lacey Bogess.
All approved.
