A Note from the Principal. A small update. March 17, 2020

The situation continues to evolve, and we anticipate there will be more changes.

As of right now, here are a few key things to be aware of:

  • Our teachers are hard at work preparing your online curriculum for the next two weeks. You should hear from the teachers no later than Wednesday, if you have not already heard from them, as to what to expect moving forward.
  • It is important that your student(s) continue working on the assignments that teachers put together. This is not a break from school, just a different way to experience learning.
  • The school is open for the next two weeks for students to retrieve personal items or pick up assignments from teachers. The best way for students to receive help accessing assignments or help with completing assignments, is to contact their teacher via email. Minimal faculty and staff will be at the school.
  • Breakfast and lunch will not be available at Orchard Springs during this break. This is one of the items that continues to change and evolve. Because this continues to change and evolve, we will send details as we are directed.
  • Thank you to those that responded to our survey about internet access and available devices. The office is making contacts today with those that expressed a need. At this time, the district is limited in its ability to send home devices with elementary students. Needs are being identified and the information will be shared with Technical Services.

Please be safe during this time. The goal of the school closure is to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We recognize this has created challenges and hardships. We express appreciation to all those that are sacrificing to make this closure effective. This is an amazing community and I am so proud to be the principal at Orchard Springs. Thank you to our teachers, staff, students, parents, and guardians for their understanding during this time.
